WHAT WE DO.
The Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds – South Australia (RORP-SA) project is transforming unwanted playgrounds into opportunities for children in developing communities while reducing valuable resources from ending up in landfill.

Working in partnership with local councils and schools, Rotary volunteers carefully dismantle and recover playground equipment that would otherwise be discarded. The equipment is then packed into shipping containers and sent to disadvantaged communities overseas, where it is reassembled to provide safe, engaging places for children to play, learn and connect.
Originally established by the Rotary Club of Mount Barker, RORP-SA has grown into a collaborative Rotary Community Project involving seven Rotary clubs across South Australia. Together, these clubs are making a lasting environmental and humanitarian impact through the power of volunteer service.
We welcome enquiries from South Australian councils and schools planning future playground upgrades or replacements. By partnering with RORP-SA, your unwanted playground equipment can be given a second life while supporting communities that would otherwise have limited access to recreational facilities.
Community members are also encouraged to become involved by volunteering with future RORP-SA projects. Whether assisting with dismantling, packing shipping containers, logistics or administration, every volunteer plays an important role in helping deliver playgrounds—and smiles—to children around the world.
